Born into one of India's most celebrated sandalwood carving families, Mohit Jangid is a fourth-generation sandalwood sculptor and the founder of MAAU, a wearable art maison dedicated to transforming heritage craftsmanship into contemporary collectible jewellery.

Guided from an early age by his father, master artisan Mahesh Jangid, Mohit has devoted his career to preserving and evolving the centuries-old tradition of Indian sandalwood carving. His sculptural works are distinguished by extraordinary miniature detailing, drawing inspiration from Indian mythology, history, and sacred symbolism while embracing an international artistic perspective.

Mohit's craftsmanship has been recognised with the Young Artisan Award (2019) by the Crafts Council of India, and he is also the recipient of the Rajasthan State Award for Excellence in Miniature Sandalwood Carving. He additionally holds national records for creating one of the world's smallest playable sandalwood violins.

His creations have been commissioned by distinguished collectors and institutions worldwide, including the recreation of historic masterpieces such as The Throne of Queen Victoria and the creation of exceptional works for international patrons. His family's sandalwood masterpieces have also been presented as diplomatic gifts by India, reflecting the enduring excellence of the Jangid artistic legacy.
